Patna, Aug 14: Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary on Friday participated in the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign in Munger district, flagging off a Tiranga rally and joining a procession in Haveli Kharagpur ahead of Independence Day.During his visit, Choudhary paid floral tributes to Dr BR Ambedkar at Ambedkar Chowk before taking part in programmes centred on the national flag.Earlier, the chief minister hoisted the Tricolour at his official residence as part of the nationwide campaign.
In a message shared on social media, Choudhary appealed to citizens to hoist the national flag at their homes and actively participate in the campaign. He also urged people to share their photographs with the Tricolour on social media using the hashtag #HarGharTiranga.
The ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign encourages citizens to display the national flag at their homes and participate in activities marking Independence Day. It was launched under the broader Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav initiative.The 2026 campaign includes Tiranga rallies, processions, exhibitions, cultural programmes, bike and cycle rallies, illumination of prominent locations, decorations and Rangoli events.
This year’s celebrations also focus on commemorating 150 years of ‘Vande Mataram’, with programmes being organised under the theme “Tiranga Salute to the Spirit of Vande Mataram”.The campaign also features the ‘Selfie with Tiranga’ initiative, aimed at encouraging greater public participation in the Independence Day celebrations.
