Hyderabad, Sept 24: A 13-year-old girl died after a Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) bus allegedly hit the scooter she was travelling on with her mother in Balanagar here on Thursday, police said.
The deceased was identified as Navya Sri, 13. According to police, she was riding pillion with her mother, P Masthya Pavani Prapoorna, when the scooter was allegedly hit from behind by an RTC bus near SMR Vinay Capital.
The mother and daughter were travelling from Narsapur X Road towards Secunderabad when the accident occurred, police said.
Navya Sri fell onto the road following the impact and came under the wheels of the bus, suffering critical injuries, police said.
Locals rushed her to BBR Hospital, where doctors declared her dead on arrival.
Balanagar police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the incident.
“The girl fell onto the road and came under the bus wheels,” police said.
