Ranchi heats up as temperatures rise, air quality deteriorates

Ranchi, Mar 26: Ranchi recorded a temperature of 31.09°C on Tuesday, with a minimum of 21.04°C and a maximum of 33.52°C, according to weather reports. The relative humidity stood at 10%, while wind speeds reached 10 km/h. The sun rose at 05:46 AM and is set to go down at 06:01 PM.

The forecast for Wednesday predicts a further increase in temperature, with a minimum of 23.93°C and a maximum of 36.9°C. Humidity levels are expected to drop to 8%. Authorities advised residents to prepare for a hot day and plan outdoor activities accordingly.

The Air Quality Index (AQI) in Ranchi stood at 200, placing it in the “poor” category. Officials warned that children and individuals with respiratory conditions such as asthma should remain indoors, while others should limit outdoor exposure to avoid health risks.

Weather patterns in Jharkhand have shifted, with heat levels rising following storm and rainfall over the past four days, which had temporarily reduced maximum temperatures by 5-6°C.
