Three killed, six injured as car crashes into divider in Hazaribagh

Hazaribagh, Dec 3: A tragic road accident claimed the lives of three members of the same family and left six others injured here on Wednesday.

The tragedy unfolded near the Panchmadhav Gangtahi bridge under Barhi police station when a Swift car travelling on the four-lane road crashed into the divider and was completely wrecked.

The deceased have been identified as Poonam Devi (55), her son Jai Bhagwan Yadav (40), and his 10-year-old daughter Anshika Kumari, all residents of Kulti, Asansol.

Six other family members — Dharmendra Yadav (35), Shivam Kumar (12), Abhiraj Kumar (10), Mrityunjay Kumar (8), Kaushalya Devi, and Jyoti Kumari (24), sustained severe injuries. They were rushed to the nearest Barhi Sub-Divisional Hospital, from where five were referred to Hazaribagh Sadar Hospital.

Among them, the condition of Dharmendra and Shivam is said to be critical.

As per initial reports, the family was travelling from Kulti (Asansol) to Bihar to attend a wedding when the fatal accident occurred.
