Ranchi, August 27: A youth claiming to be Ankit Kumar Mishra of Giridih has threatened to blow up Jharkhand ministers Sudivya Kumar Sonu and Dr. Irfan Ansari in a viral video, prompting police to launch a probe.
In the video clip, Mishra says that he hails from Babhantoli in Giridih and claims to have links with gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. He alleged that associates of the minister assaulted him over a land dispute and even threatened him with religious conversion.
Mishra declared he would only forgive the matter if the accused apologized, otherwise he would carry out a major attack within 24 hours. The video also mentions that it was recorded in Jamui, Bihar, and that the youth had attended an NDA conference.
Giridih police confirmed they have taken cognizance of the video. “Efforts are on to trace the youth and verify the authenticity of the clip,” said Inspector Shyam Kishore Mahato of Muffasil police station.
Reacting to the development, Minister Sudivya Kumar Sonu said he had been alerted by well-wishers but was unaware of the details. He added that it is the job of the police to probe whether the video is genuine or AI-generated.
