Ranchi, June 22: The Bharatiya Janata Party has announced it will hold statewide “Aakrosh Pradarshan” (protest demonstrations) in all 264 blocks of Jharkhand on June 24. The party will submit memorandums addressed to the Deputy Commissioners through Block Development Officers, raising a wide range of public concerns including alleged corruption, unemployment, law and order failures, and policy paralysis. The announcement was made by BJP state general secretary and MP Aditya Sahu.

Sahu said that senior leaders including state president and former chief minister Babulal Marandi, working president Dr. Ravindra Kumar Rai, and former chief ministers Arjun Munda, Raghubar Das, and Champai Soren will lead the protests at various blocks. Other state office bearers, MPs, MLAs, former state presidents, and district-level leaders will also participate in leading demonstrations across the state.

He alleged that under the second term of the Hemant Soren-led government, there has been no change in the governance style, policies, or intent. According to Sahu, the state administration is deeply mired in corruption from the panchayat level to the secretariat. He claimed that no government work is being done without bribes, and the poor are forced to run from pillar to post even for basic services, while middlemen and power brokers dominate the system.

The BJP has accused the state government of deliberately delaying local body elections, failing to resolve the ongoing language policy dispute, and misleading unemployed youth on the employment policy. Sahu said that basic infrastructure such as roads, electricity, hospitals, medicines, and education have deteriorated under the current administration.

He further stated that law and order in Jharkhand has collapsed, with increasing incidents of loot, murder, and rape across the state, including in the capital Ranchi and remote rural areas. The government, he said, has withheld payments due to farmers for their paddy, and pension payments for widows and senior citizens have been pending for months.

Sahu emphasized that public anger is growing and that the BJP stands firmly with the sentiments of the people. As a responsible opposition, the party cannot remain silent in the face of widespread lawlessness, fear, and corruption, he said.

Providing details of the planned protest leadership, Sahu informed that Babulal Marandi will lead the demonstration in Gawan block, Dr. Ravindra Kumar Rai in Dhanwar and Jamua, Arjun Munda in Kharsawan, Raghubar Das in Jamshedpur, Champai Soren in Seraikela, and Aditya Sahu himself in Kanke. Dr. Pradeep Verma will lead in Nagri, Manoj Kumar Singh in Medininagar, and former Leader of Opposition Amar Kumar Bauri in Chandanakiyari.

He added that across other blocks, BJP state office bearers, MPs, MLAs, former state presidents, district presidents, and leaders from party fronts will lead similar demonstrations.
