Ranchi, June 22: Jharkhand Mukti Morcha has slammed the Bharatiya Janata Party over its planned protest on June 24, calling it a “political drama” aimed at destabilizing the state government and misleading the public. In a sharp statement, JMM general secretary and spokesperson Vinod Kumar Pandey accused the BJP of making repeated attempts to create confusion among the people after being rejected in the 2019 state elections.
Pandey claimed that the BJP has been unable to digest its defeat and sees chaos everywhere in the state, despite the Hemant Soren-led government’s efforts to bring development to all sections of society. He highlighted key initiatives such as farm loan waivers, the state’s employment policy for local youth, and strict measures for women’s safety as examples of JMM’s people-centric governance.
He further criticized the BJP for failing to implement the PESA Act or formulate a local policy during its tenure. According to Pandey, while the current government is actively implementing public welfare schemes, the BJP is choosing to mislead the public with false accusations rather than playing the role of a constructive opposition. He said the BJP’s actions amount to disrespecting the people’s mandate and claimed the party is once again heading toward political irrelevance.
Referring to former BJP chief ministers and leaders, Pandey said they are trying to hide their failures by resorting to protest politics. He reminded that the people of Jharkhand have not forgotten the recruitment scams and land grab controversies that took place during BJP’s rule, which led to their ouster from power in two successive elections.
Pandey asserted that BJP leaders should first introspect before questioning the current administration. He said the public no longer wants empty speeches but real work, and the Hemant Soren government is consistently delivering on that front. He emphasized that no matter how many protests BJP holds, the people of Jharkhand will not be misled again. They know who is truly working in their interest and who is merely creating noise.
