Ranchi, May 19: In an incident mirroring the lack of fear among criminals towards law enforcing authorities in Jharkhand capital a land dealer was stabbed to death in his house in broad daylight in front of relatives.
The incident took place at Kanke Dam area on Monday. According to the information, a religious ceremony was going on at Ramesh Oraon house Kanke Dam area.
Meanwhile, some unknown criminals entered the house. The criminals stabbed the young man to death. Angry villagers took to the streets. People blocked the road and created a lot of ruckus.
The religious program (a tonsure ceremony) was going on in a house in Kanke Dam area of Ranchi. In the middle of the program, some people suddenly entered the house. Unknown criminals started stabbing 35-year-old Ramesh Oraon with a knife. The family rushed to RIMS with the seriously injured Ramesh. But he died during treatment here. The deceased used to do land business.
As soon as the information about the incident was received, the police of Gonda and Kanke police station reached the spot. Police officials were seen trying to pacify the villagers. But angry villagers blocked Kanke road completely due to this incident that happened in broad daylight. Villagers demand that the accused should be arrested as soon as possible. Apart from this, the family of the deceased should also get compensation.
Regarding the incident, the police said that the reason for the murder has not been known yet. But the police suspect that the murder was done due to personal enmity. At present, the police has started investigating the case thoroughly. Police has assured that the accused will be identified soon and they will also be arrested. Traffic has also started on Kanke road.
