Ranchi, May 15: Jharkhand Excise and Prohibition Minister Yogendra Prasad was hospitalised on Thursday morning after experiencing chest pain and excessive sweating, officials said. He was later discharged and is currently recovering at home.
Chief Minister Hemant Soren visited the minister’s residence to enquire about his health and wished him a speedy recovery. Soren also shared photographs of the visit on social media platform X, expressing concern and extending best wishes.
“Met Excise Minister Yogendra Prasad ji at his residence. Glad to know his health is improving. I wish him a speedy recovery,” Soren posted on X.
Health Minister Dr Irfan Ansari also took to X to share details of the incident. “This morning, I was informed about the minister’s sudden illness. I rushed to his residence, where he complained of chest pain and excessive sweating,” Ansari said in a post.
“Given the seriousness of the situation, I contacted the Superintendent of RIMS and arranged for an emergency medical team. After initial treatment at home, he was shifted to Paras Hospital in Dhurwa. The doctors have confirmed that he is now out of danger,” he added.
Doctors advised the minister to rest following treatment, and his condition is reported to be stable.
