New Delhi, April 03: The trailer of “Kesari Chapter 2,” starring Akshay Kumar, R Madhavan, and Ananya Panday, was released on Wednesday, generating enthusiasm among fans. The film, a courtroom drama, is based on the book “The Case That Shook The Empire” by Raghu Palat and Pushpa Palat, and revolves around barrister C Sankaran Nair’s fight to uncover the truth behind the 1919 Jallianwala Bagh massacre.

Akshay Kumar portrays Sankaran Nair, while Madhavan plays Neville Mckinley, a lawyer defending the British Crown. Ananya Panday features as a law student in the UK.

Fans lauded the trailer, with one saying, “The most common thing everyone will say after watching this trailer – goosebumps guaranteed.” Another commented, “Content Kumar is back.” Social media users praised Akshay’s performance, calling the film “his massive comeback.” Madhavan’s presence was also acknowledged, with a fan stating, “Madhavan looks brilliant as usual.”

A user on X (formerly Twitter) remarked, “The empire is shrinking. This last bit is enough to make the theatre crazy!” Another praised the cinematography, adding, “That Village Footage & BGM!”

The trailer was launched in Delhi in the presence of the film’s team. It begins with depictions of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre and its aftermath, highlighting Akshay’s character fighting against British rule.

“Kesari Chapter 2” is set for theatrical release on April 18.
