New Delhi, Sep 21: Several schools and public institutions in Delhi received bomb threats on Monday, prompting police and emergency agencies to conduct security checks across the affected premises.
Delhi Fire Services received multiple calls related to bomb threats between 9:41 a.m. and 11:11 a.m., with the first report coming from Mother International School in Hauz Khas. Security personnel subsequently conducted a detailed search of the premises, following which the threat was declared a hoax.
Other schools that received threats included Navy Children’s School in Chanakyapuri and Bal Bharati School in Sector 14, Rohini. Threats were also reported at Springdales School, Salwan Public School, Bal Bharati Public School, St. Thomas’ School and Juniors’ School.The Dr. S.P.M.
Civic Centre, which houses the headquarters of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi, also received a similar threat message.Police and other emergency response teams carried out anti-sabotage checks at the affected locations. Bomb detection teams and trained personnel searched the premises for any suspicious objects.
According to police, no bomb or suspicious object resembling an explosive device had been found at the locations checked as of 1:28 p.m.Authorities have launched an investigation to trace the source of the threat messages and examine whether the incidents are connected.
The latest threats come amid a series of similar incidents reported in Delhi in recent weeks. On September 15, several prominent schools, including Sardar Patel Vidyalaya, The British School, Air Force Bal Bharati School and Carmel Convent School, received bomb-threat emails.
Searches were conducted at those premises and the threats were later found to be hoaxes.Earlier this month, similar threat messages were also reported at government establishments, including the Delhi Assembly, Civic Centre and Mayor’s Office.
Police are continuing their investigation into the latest threats while security agencies remain alert at the affected locations.
