New Delhi, Sep 21: Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah on Monday met Pejawar Math seer Sri Vishwaprasanna Tirtha Swamiji in the national capital and sought his blessings during the ongoing Chaturmasya observance.
Shah described the meeting as a privilege, noting that he had the opportunity to meet the revered seer during his 39th Chaturmasya Vrata in New Delhi.In a post on X, the Union minister highlighted the spiritual significance of the Chaturmasya tradition in Indian culture, describing it as a period associated with discipline, reflection, restraint and devotion.
Shah said the tradition reflects the importance of renunciation and self-discipline, which are observed by ascetics through meditation, restraint and spiritual awareness.He also expressed his wishes for the seer’s spiritual wisdom and inner light to continue guiding humanity.
The meeting took place during the seer’s Chaturmasya period in New Delhi, an important period of religious observance in the Hindu tradition.
The Pejawar Math is associated with the Madhwa tradition of Hindu philosophy and is one of the eight monasteries established in Udupi.
The interaction between the Union minister and the seer comes during the ongoing religious observance and focused on the spiritual significance of Chaturmasya and the values associated with the tradition.
