Ranchi, Sept 9: A two-day Vendor Development Programme-cum-Product Exhibition 2026, aimed at strengthening partnerships between public sector undertakings and micro and small enterprises, began here on Wednesday with a focus on promoting indigenisation, innovation and entrepreneurship.
The programme is being jointly organised by Central Mine Planning and Design Institute (CMPDI) and the MSME-Development Office, Ranchi, from September 9-10 at Rabindra Bhawan, CMPDI.
Inaugurating the programme, CMPDI Chairman-cum-Managing Director Chaudhari Shivraj Singh said the initiative was not merely a buyer-seller meet but a platform to foster long-term partnerships between corporates and MSMEs.
He emphasised the role of MSMEs in promoting indigenisation, innovation and specialised solutions, saying that aligning their expertise with the requirements of corporates and PSUs could open new avenues of growth towards Viksit Bharat.
“MSMEs should leverage these opportunities and their specialised capabilities to grow from local entities into globally competitive enterprises,” Singh said.
He also urged MSMEs to explore opportunities arising from CMPDI’s diverse areas of work, including exploration, geomatics, environmental services and mine closure.
Chief Guest and CCL CMD Nilendu Kumar Singh said micro and small enterprises could play a vital role in building an Atmanirbhar Bharat and assured them of all possible support.
He urged participants to make the best use of the programme and develop their products and enterprises in line with changing requirements.
MSME-Development Office Director Indrajit Yadav said the programme would provide micro and small entrepreneurs an opportunity to directly interact with officials of participating public sector undertakings and understand their procurement requirements.
Chief Vigilance Officer of CCL and CMPDI Pankaj Kumar said the programme, being organised under the Vigilance Awareness Campaign 2026, would promote transparency and fairness in the government procurement process.
CMPDI Director (T/CRD) Nripendra Nath said the programme would enable MSMEs to interact with corporate buyers and understand their requirements. He particularly encouraged women entrepreneurs to participate actively and utilise the opportunities for business growth.
During the technical sessions and buyer-seller meet, senior officials from CMPDI, CCL, BSL/SAIL, Hindustan Copper Limited, South Eastern Railway, GAIL, NTPC Mining Limited and Government e-Marketplace (GeM) explained procurement and vendor registration procedures.
Participants were also briefed about the Trade Receivables Discounting System (TReDS), which facilitates financing against trade receivables.
On the second day, officials from MECON, UCIL, SIDBI, NSSH/NSIC and other organisations will make presentations on their procurement processes and schemes for MSMEs. Officials from M1xchange and InvoiceMart will also provide information on TReDS.
Five government/PSU organisations and 15 micro and small enterprises are displaying their products through exhibition stalls at the event.
More than 200 MSME entrepreneurs participated in the technical sessions and directly interacted with officials during question-and-answer sessions to seek clarifications on procurement-related issues.
