Dubai, Sep 4: Smriti Mandhana produced a sensational record-breaking innings as India stormed into the semifinals of the Women’s T20 Asia Cup with a massive 137-run victory over Hong Kong here.
Batting first, India posted an imposing 193 for five in their allotted 20 overs, with Mandhana leading the charge with a breathtaking 124 off just 64 balls. Her explosive knock earned her the Player of the Match award and further strengthened her status as one of the leading batters in women’s international cricket.
Mandhana’s innings also saw her surpass Mithali Raj to become the highest run-scorer in women’s international cricket. She also registered a new record for the most international centuries by a female batter, adding another milestone to an already remarkable career.
Chasing 194, Hong Kong struggled against India’s disciplined bowling attack and were bowled out for just 56 in 16.2 overs, handing India a comprehensive 137-run victory.
