New Delhi, September 1: The Ministry of Coal has begun preparations for Special Campaign 6.0, with a focus on improving cleanliness, workplace efficiency, waste management and administrative effectiveness across organisations under its jurisdiction.
A preparatory meeting was chaired by Sanjeev Kumar Kassi, Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Coal, and attended by nodal officers from Coal India Limited (CIL) and its subsidiaries, NLC India Limited, the Coal Controller’s Organisation and the Coal Mines Provident Fund Organisation.
During the meeting, officials were briefed on the framework and implementation strategy for the upcoming campaign. The ministry also reviewed the achievements and successful practices adopted during Special Campaign 5.0 to help guide the implementation of the new phase.
Special Campaign 6.0 will give priority to the systematic collection, segregation and disposal of e-waste, modern cleaning practices, efficient scrap disposal and better utilisation of office space.
The campaign will also promote digitisation, environmentally sustainable practices, waste-to-wealth initiatives and inclusive workplaces. Strengthening institutional systems and adopting a citizen-centric approach will form part of the broader administrative agenda.
According to the assessment report of the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG) for Special Campaign 5.0, the Ministry of Coal secured the top position in terms of space cleared and ranked third in revenue generated.
The ministry said the results of the previous campaign provide a strong foundation for the next phase and demonstrate its continued focus on cleanliness, environmental sustainability and effective resource management.
During the preparatory meeting, the ministry reiterated its commitment to achieving the targets of Special Campaign 6.0 and ensuring tangible improvements in workplace functionality, timely disposal of pending matters and overall administrative performance.
The ministry said it would continue to prioritise these initiatives while working towards creating a cleaner, greener, better organised and more efficient working environment.
