Bihar reshuffles 11 IAS officers, gives first field postings to 12 new recruits

Patna, Aug 23: The Bihar government has carried out a major administrative reshuffle, transferring 11 IAS officers and assigning them new responsibilities while giving first field postings to 12 newly inducted 2024-batch IAS officers, officials said.

The General Administration Department issued a notification announcing the transfers and postings, under which Sub-Divisional Officers (SDOs) in several key subdivisions, including Patna City, Danapur and Navgachhia, have been replaced.

Several transferred officers have been assigned key responsibilities as commissioners of municipal corporations, chief executive officers of district councils and directors in various state departments.

Among the major transfers, Garima Lohya, earlier SDO of Patna Sadar, has been appointed Commissioner of the Darbhanga Municipal Corporation, while Anirudh Pandey, SDO of Danapur, has been made Commissioner of the Purnia Municipal Corporation.

Tashar Kumar, formerly SDO of Purnia, has been appointed CEO of the Madhubani District Council, while Pradyuman Singh Yadav, SDO of Katihar, has been posted as Director of the Food Processing Directorate in the Industries Department.

Akanksha Anand, earlier SDO of Muzaffarpur West, will serve as CEO of the Rohtas District Council, while Rohit Kardam, SDO of Navgachhia, has been appointed CEO of the Kaimur District Council.

Other transfers include Shipra Vijay Kumar from Ara Sadar to CEO of the Jamui District Council, Neha Kumari from Sasaram to CEO of the Katihar District Council, and Krishna Chandra Gupta from Kahalgaon to Inspector General of Registration in the Prohibition, Excise and Registration Department.

Anjali Sharma, SDO of Areraj, has been appointed Director of Disability in the Social Welfare Department, while Shreya Shree has been appointed CEO of the Khagaria Zila Parishad.

Meanwhile, 12 IAS officers of the 2024 batch, who recently completed their training at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA), have been given their first field assignments as SDOs.

Virupaksha Vikram Singh has been posted as SDO of Danapur, Priya Rani as SDO of Sasaram, Krishna Joshi as SDO of Flood, Patna, and Prem Kumar as SDO of Haveli Kharagpur in Munger.

Syed Adil Mohsin will serve as SDO of Madhaura in Saran, Ajay Yadav as SDO of Ballia in Begusarai, Suraj Kumar as SDO of Katihar and Vignesh TA as SDO of Purnia.

The remaining postings include Jatin Kumar as SDO of Sherghati in Gaya, K. Parikshit as SDO of Navgachhia, Mahesh Kumar as SDO of Tarapur in Munger and Kashish Bakshi as SDO of Patna City.

The reshuffle brings experienced officers into key administrative and departmental roles while placing newly trained IAS officers in subdivision-level field positions.
