Patna, Aug 5: Indian wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan has returned to his duties at the Reserve Bank of India’s Patna office during a break from competitive cricket, with photographs of him at the workplace drawing widespread attention on social media.
Kishan, who is employed as an Assistant Manager with the RBI, was seen wearing formal attire and carrying his official identity card. Images of the cricketer at the central bank’s office were widely shared online, prompting discussion about his ability to balance professional employment with his cricket career.
The 28-year-old is currently away from international action and is using the available break to fulfil his responsibilities at the RBI. He is also reportedly continuing his fitness and cricket training while attending office.
Kishan has maintained a long association with the RBI and has previously represented the institution’s cricket team in domestic competitions.On the cricket field, Kishan was recently named captain of the East Zone squad for the 2026 Duleep Trophy.
Young batter Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has been appointed as the team’s vice-captain.The tournament is scheduled to begin later this month in Bengaluru and is expected to provide Kishan with an opportunity to demonstrate his leadership and batting abilities in domestic cricket.
The left-handed batter remains an important player in India’s white-ball setup and was part of the national team’s successful ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 campaign.
