Ranchi, Jul 31: The Ranchi Municipal Corporation (RMC) has identified 35 shops and commercial establishments for alleged violations of approved building plans and municipal regulations, officials said on Friday.
The civic body has initiated action against the establishments as part of an ongoing drive to regulate unauthorised construction and ensure compliance with building and land-use norms.
According to officials, notices have been issued to the owners and operators of the identified properties, asking them to submit relevant documents and explain their position regarding the alleged violations.
The action is being taken under provisions of the Jharkhand Municipal Act, 2012, which empowers local authorities to examine cases involving unauthorised construction and take appropriate action.
RMC officials said the properties are being scrutinised to determine whether the structures were constructed in accordance with approved building plans and whether the required permissions were obtained.
The civic body warned that further action could be initiated against establishments that fail to provide satisfactory responses or do not comply with municipal regulations.
Officials said the enforcement drive would continue in other parts of Ranchi, with additional commercial properties likely to be inspected.The campaign is aimed at promoting planned urban development, ensuring adherence to building safety standards and preventing unauthorised commercial construction in the city.
