Ranchi, Jul 31: Jharkhand has received around 1.92 crore applications under its Right to Service framework, reflecting the increasing use of time-bound public service delivery systems across the state.The state government said that more than 5.33 lakh applications have been resolved through the Sahayog initiative, which aims to improve access to government services and ensure timely disposal of citizens’ requests.
The initiative focuses on simplifying administrative procedures and making essential public services more accessible. It is also intended to reduce delays and minimise the need for repeated visits to government offices.Officials highlighted the importance of public awareness regarding citizens’ right to receive notified government services within a prescribed time limit.
The system is designed to promote transparency and strengthen accountability in service delivery.Services covered under the framework include the issuance of birth, death, caste, income and residence certificates, along with the processing of applications related to old-age, widow and disability pensions and other welfare schemes.
The government is also promoting the use of digital platforms to make applications easier to submit and track. The technology-based system is expected to improve efficiency and provide citizens with quicker access to government services.
The initiative is seen as part of Jharkhand’s broader efforts to strengthen digital governance, improve administrative responsiveness and ensure that public services reach people in a transparent and timely manner.
