Munger, July 28: Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary on Tuesday inaugurated a series of education and public infrastructure projects in Munger district, including 10 model schools, a government degree college and a model police station, as part of the state government’s efforts to strengthen educational and civic facilities in rural areas.
The Chief Minister virtually inaugurated 10 model schools for the Tarapur Assembly constituency during a programme held at Kisan Vedic High School and Saraswati Vidya Niketan in Launa village.
The event also marked the opening of modern educational facilities, including libraries, computer classrooms and science laboratories at the two schools.Later, Choudhary inaugurated an Adarsh (Model) Police Station at Harpur village in Tarapur block.
During his visit, he inspected the police station’s infrastructure, including the lock-up and other public service facilities, and reviewed arrangements aimed at improving policing in the area.The Chief Minister subsequently travelled to Asarganj, where he inaugurated a Government Degree College and formally launched its academic session. He also interacted with local residents and discussed development-related issues affecting the region.
Addressing the gathering, Choudhary said the new college would enable students from Asarganj and neighbouring areas to pursue higher education closer to home, reducing the need to travel to cities such as Bhagalpur, Banka and Munger. He said the institution would particularly benefit students from rural backgrounds by making higher education more accessible and affordable.
Highlighting the government’s priorities, the Chief Minister said the NDA administration remains committed to improving the quality of education through expanded infrastructure and institutional development across the state.Several ministers and public representatives accompanied the Chief Minister during the visit, which focused on enhancing educational opportunities and public services in the district.
Residents and members of the academic community welcomed the initiatives, expressing hope that the new institutions would improve access to education and contribute to the long-term development of the region.
