Ranchi, July 16: The Jharkhand government is set to issue appointment letters to around 800 selected secondary assistant teachers for Plus-Two schools next month, accelerating the long-pending recruitment process in the state’s higher secondary education system.
The School Education and Literacy Department has begun preparations for issuing appointment letters following recommendations made by the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC). The Directorate of Secondary Education has also released guidelines for the second phase of counselling and document verification for successful candidates.
Under the state’s revised teacher cadre system, teachers appointed in both high schools and Plus-Two schools will now be part of a unified cadre and will be designated as Secondary Teachers.
The JSSC had initiated the recruitment process last year to fill 1,373 teaching posts across 510 Plus-Two schools in Jharkhand. Recruitment is being conducted in 23 subjects, marking the first large-scale appointment of teachers in these disciplines since the formation of the state. So far, the commission has recommended nearly 800 candidates for appointment.
Document verification for successful candidates will be conducted from July 20 to July 22 at the New Annexe Building, Project Bhawan, Dhurwa, Ranchi.
The recruitment covers subjects including Political Science, Sociology, Psychology, Anthropology, Philosophy, Home Science, Geology, Artificial Intelligence and Coding, Cyber Security and Data Science, Computer Science, Applied English, Urdu, Santali, Bengali, Mundari, Ho, Kudukh, Kurmali, Nagpuri, Panchpargania, Khortha, Odia and Special Education.
According to the verification schedule, candidates in Political Science and Psychology will undergo verification on July 20. Verification for Sociology, Home Science and Applied English will be held on July 21, while candidates for Special Education, Anthropology, Geology, Philosophy, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence and Coding, and Cyber Security and Data Science will be verified on July 22.
