Saraikela-Kharsawan, July 11: Former Jharkhand Chief Minister and former Union Minister Arjun Munda on Friday led a tree plantation drive at Tower Ground in Adityapur-2, urging people to actively participate in environmental conservation by planting and nurturing more trees.
The plantation programme was organised to spread awareness about environmental protection and encourage community participation in creating a greener and cleaner environment. BJP leaders, party workers and local residents joined the initiative and pledged to contribute towards environmental conservation through sustained tree plantation efforts.
Addressing the gathering, Munda appealed to citizens to plant and care for as many trees as possible, describing tree plantation as one of the most effective measures to combat environmental degradation.
“Plant and care for as many trees as possible,” Munda said, adding, “Tree plantation is the most effective way to protect the environment. Everyone should join this campaign to ensure a clean and green environment for future generations.”
The programme was attended by BJP State Minister Shailendra Kumar Singh, Adityapur Municipal Corporation Mayor Sanjay Sardar, Deputy Mayor Ankur Singh, Mandal President Abhishek Vishal, District General Secretary Rakesh Mishra, District Vice President Amitesh Amar, along with Lalan Shukla, Sunil Tiwari, Alok Srivastava, Ravi Kumar, Ashok Singh, Virendra, Prabhat Kumar Singh, party workers and local residents.
During the event, participants took a collective pledge to protect the environment through tree plantation and emphasised the need for greater public participation in conservation efforts.
Speakers at the programme said making tree plantation a mass movement is the need of the hour to address the growing challenges of pollution and climate change. They urged people not only to plant trees but also to ensure their regular care and maintenance so that they survive and contribute to a healthier ecosystem.
The programme concluded with a collective commitment by participants to work towards building a green, clean and environmentally sustainable future through continued community-led plantation drives.
