Ranchi, July 7: The newly appointed State Information Commissioners of the Jharkhand State Information Commission paid a courtesy visit to Jharkhand Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar at Lok Bhavan in Ranchi on Monday.
The delegation comprised Anuj Kumar Sinha, Tanuj Khatri, Amulya Neeraj Khalkho and Shivpujan Pathak, who recently assumed office as State Information Commissioners.
During the meeting, the Governor congratulated the newly appointed commissioners and extended his best wishes for their tenure.
He urged them to discharge their responsibilities with impartiality, transparency, honesty and sensitivity, saying these values are essential for strengthening public confidence in the institution.
The Governor said the Right to Information (RTI) Act is an effective mechanism for promoting good governance, transparency and accountability in public administration.
He noted that the State Information Commission plays a vital role in safeguarding citizens’ right to information and reinforcing transparent governance.
Emphasising the importance of fair decision-making, Gangwar said every order of the Commission should strictly adhere to the principles of impartiality, transparency, timely disposal of cases and natural justice.
He expressed confidence that the newly appointed commissioners would uphold these principles while carrying out their duties and contribute to strengthening the state’s governance framework.
