Houston, Mar 7: United States national baseball team will take on Great Britain national baseball team in a Pool B match of the World Baseball Classic 2026 on Saturday at Daikin Park in Houston.
The match is scheduled to begin at 8 pm Eastern Time and will be broadcast on FOX as part of the tournament’s official television coverage.Team USA manager Mark DeRosa said two-time American League Cy Young Award winner Tarik Skubal is expected to start the game against Great Britain.
Skubal is likely to make his only appearance in the tournament before returning to the Detroit Tigers for spring training.DeRosa also indicated that National League Cy Young Award winner Paul Skenes is set to start the United States’ next Pool B game against Mexico national baseball team on Monday.
Meanwhile, Nolan McLean of the New York Mets is tentatively scheduled to start Tuesday’s final pool-stage match against Italy national baseball team, although he is currently dealing with an illness and missed a recent team practice.
The United States lineup is expected to feature several high-profile players, including Aaron Judge of the New York Yankees, catcher Cal Raleigh of the Seattle Mariners, and Bryce Harper and Kyle Schwarber from the Philadelphia Phillies.
The 2026 edition of the World Baseball Classic features 47 games, with matches broadcast across the FOX family of networks and streaming platforms. The championship game is scheduled for March 17 at loanDepot Park in Miami.
