Sri Lanka envoy meets Bahrain crown prince to boost bilateral trade and ties

Colombo, Dec 16: Sri Lanka’s Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Shanika Dissanayake, met HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Bahrain, at Gudaibiya Palace on Saturday, officials said.

During the meeting, Ambassador Dissanayake conveyed the greetings and best wishes of Sri Lankan Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya to the Crown Prince and extended congratulations on the occasion of Bahrain’s 54th National Day, observed on December 16.

The Ambassador briefed the Crown Prince on the broad spectrum of bilateral relations between Sri Lanka and Bahrain and highlighted opportunities to expand cooperation, particularly in the areas of trade and investment.

Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, in his remarks, underscored the longstanding and cordial relations between the two countries and praised the contributions of the Sri Lankan community in Bahrain.

He reaffirmed Bahrain’s commitment to further strengthening and expanding bilateral cooperation with Sri Lanka across a range of sectors.
