Patna, July 29: The Bihar Education Department has sent a requisition to the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) for the appointment of 32,388 teachers under the fourth phase of the state’s teacher recruitment programme, Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary said on Wednesday.
The proposed recruitment includes vacancies across primary, middle, secondary and higher secondary levels, with the largest number of posts earmarked for teachers of Classes 11 and 12.According to the details shared by the chief minister, 3,847 vacancies have been proposed for Classes 1 to 5, while 8,563 posts are for Classes 6 to 8.
The recruitment plan includes 3,877 positions for Classes 9 and 10 and 16,101 posts for Classes 11 and 12.The requisition marks an important administrative step towards the launch of the Teacher Recruitment Examination-4 (TRE-4).
The BPSC is expected to issue a detailed notification outlining eligibility criteria, application procedures and the examination schedule.Choudhary said the recruitment initiative was aimed at improving the quality of education, expanding employment opportunities for young people and supporting the state’s development goals.
The announcement has brought relief to teacher aspirants who had been awaiting the next phase of recruitment for several months. The official advertisement is expected to be released in the coming weeks, although no confirmed date has been announced by the BPSC.
Meanwhile, some teacher aspirants expressed dissatisfaction over the number of vacancies, saying they had expected the recruitment drive to include around 46,000 posts.
The difference between the expected figure and the announced vacancies is 13,612 posts.
Some candidate groups have also demanded that the recruitment process be conducted through a single examination.Further details regarding the TRE-4 recruitment process are expected after the BPSC releases its official notification.
