Ranchi, Sept 16 : The Khelo Jharkhand 2026-27 competition for the under-17 category was organised in Ratu block of Ranchi district, with students from various schools participating in athletics and team sports.
The event was organised on Wednesday by the Ratu Block Resource Centre at the ground of Chotanagpur Raj Plus Two High School, Ratu. Boys and girls from different schools across the block took part in the competitions.
The sporting events included 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1,500m and 3,000m races, besides 4x100m and 4x400m relays. Competitions in long jump, discus throw, shot put, javelin throw, kabaddi and volleyball were also held.
In the boys’ kabaddi competition, the team from Chotanagpur Raj Plus Two High School, Ratu, secured first place. In the girls’ category, High School Pali emerged as the winner.
High School Pali players also secured the top position in volleyball.
The event was conducted with the support of several teachers and organisers, including Shalini Aind, Naveen Kishore, Vijay Ranjan Pathak, Subodh Prasad, Prasiddh Narayan, Prakash Kumar, Sunita Kachhap, Barkha Kumari, Jitendra Kumar, Shiv Kumar Pathak, physical education teacher Jagjit Singh and Anita Kumari.
Satyajit and other members of the Airtel Foundation also extended support to the event, organisers said.
