Jamshedpur, July 21: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday alleged that illegal infiltration by Bangladeshi nationals and Rohingya migrants poses a serious challenge to Jharkhand, claiming that demographic changes in parts of the state have become a matter of concern.
Addressing the Parivartan Maha Rally at Gopal Maidan in Jamshedpur, the Prime Minister said the Santhal Pargana and Kolhan regions were witnessing changes in their demographic profile.
He alleged that the tribal population in these areas was declining while the number of illegal infiltrators was increasing, calling for stronger measures to safeguard the state’s interests.
The Prime Minister also launched a sharp attack on the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), and the Congress.
He accused the three parties of pursuing vote-bank politics and appeasement, alleging that such policies had adversely affected the state’s development and security.
Modi said the BJP was committed to protecting the rights of tribal communities, strengthening internal security, and accelerating development in Jharkhand.
He asserted that the people of the state were looking for political change ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections.
Expressing confidence in the BJP’s electoral prospects, the Prime Minister said the party was prepared to form the next government in Jharkhand and promised a development-focused administration if voted to power.
The rally was attended by BJP leaders, party workers, and supporters from different parts of the state.
The Assembly elections in Jharkhand are expected later this year, with political parties intensifying their campaigns across the state.
