MHT CET opens CAP registration for B.HMCT, M.HMCT admissions 2026; apply by July 19

Mumbai , July 13 : The Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell has commenced the online registration and application process for the Centralised Admission Process (CAP) for admission to first-year Bachelor of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (B.HMCT) and integrated Master of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (M.HMCT) courses for the 2026-27 academic session.

According to the admission schedule, eligible candidates can register, complete the online application form, upload the required documents and submit their applications until 5 pm on July 19, 2026. Candidates who have not yet applied for the CAP round have been advised to complete the registration within the stipulated deadline.

The verification and confirmation of applications, through either online E-Scrutiny or Physical Scrutiny, will continue until 5 pm on July 20, 2026.

Candidates seeking admission under the Maharashtra State, All India and Jammu and Kashmir/Ladakh migrant candidature categories must be Indian citizens who have passed the Class 12 examination or its equivalent with at least 45 per cent aggregate marks. Candidates belonging to Reserved Categories, Economically Weaker Section (EWS) and Persons with Disabilities (PwD) from Maharashtra require a minimum of 40 per cent marks.

Applicants must also have obtained a non-zero score in MAH-BHMCT/BCA/BBA/BMS/BBM CET-2026 or possess a valid NCHM JEE score, depending on the applicable candidature category.Candidates already registered for MAH-BHMCT/BCA/BBA/BMS/BBM CET-2026 will not be required to pay any additional CAP registration fee. However, eligible candidates who qualified the NCHM JEE but did not register for the state CET will have to pay an application fee of Rs 1,300 for the General category and Rs 1,000 for candidates belonging to Reserved Categories, PwD, Orphan and Transgender (Other) categories through online payment modes.

The CET Cell has stated that candidates claiming reservation benefits must produce the prescribed validity or eligibility certificates during document verification. Failure to submit the required documents will result in the candidate being considered under the General category for CAP admissions.

Applicants can complete the registration process by visiting the CAP portal, logging in with their credentials, filling in the required details, submitting their course preferences and uploading the necessary documents before final submission.

Candidates can choose either E-Scrutiny or Physical Scrutiny for document verification. Under the E-Scrutiny mode, applications and uploaded documents will be verified online by designated scrutiny centres. In case of discrepancies, applications will be returned to candidates for corrections and resubmission.Those opting for Physical Scrutiny will have to visit the selected facilitation centre with original documents during the allotted time slot for verification and confirmation of their applications.

The provisional merit list for Maharashtra State and All India candidates is scheduled to be published on July 22, 2026. Candidates will be able to submit grievances regarding the provisional merit list from July 23 to July 25, up to 5 pm. Those opting for physical scrutiny will be required to visit their facilitation centres for grievance resolution.

The CET Cell will publish the final merit list for Maharashtra State and All India candidates on July 28, 2026.

Officials have noted that the admission schedule is provisional and may be revised if required, with any changes to be announced through the official CAP portal. Candidates requiring assistance can contact the CET Cell helpline between 10 am and 6 pm or raise queries through the online ticketing system available on the candidate login portal.
