Koderma, Aug 27: Union Women and Child Development Minister Annapurna Devi on Thursday attended the ‘Khelo India Samvaad’ programme at Grizzly College of Education in Jhumri Telaiya, Koderma, where she joined thousands of young participants in listening to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s virtual address.
The nationwide youth interaction was organised through the MY Bharat platform and witnessed participation from more than one million young people, including athletes, Olympians and medal winners.The programme focused on the growing role of sports in shaping the younger generation and encouraging greater participation in sporting activities across the country.
Speaking on the occasion, Devi said sports should be viewed not only as a competitive activity but also as an important instrument for developing discipline, confidence and leadership among young people.
She highlighted the contribution of sporting activities to youth development and nation-building, saying that greater opportunities for youngsters to participate in sports can help create a healthier, more confident and determined generation.
The minister also emphasised the importance of the government’s efforts to strengthen India’s sporting ecosystem and encourage young talent at the grassroots level.The large-scale participation in the programme, she said, reflected the increasing enthusiasm among India’s youth towards sports and their willingness to contribute to the country’s development.
The event concluded with the message, “Khelega Bharat, Khilega Bharat”, underscoring the vision of making sports an integral part of youth development and national progress.
