Ranchi, September 12: The state capital is set to host its maiden defence exposition, EastTech 2025, from September 19 to 21 at the Khelgaon Sports Complex, here.
This will be the first time Jharkhand will be organising a defence-focused event of such scale, aimed at positioning the state as an emerging hub for the sector.
Originally planned for September 17–19, the event has been rescheduled, though officials have not disclosed the reason for the change.
Jharkhand Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar will inaugurate the three-day expo on September 19. The inaugural session will also be attended by Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan and Eastern Army Commander Lt Gen RC Tiwari.
The mega showcase will bring together leading defence manufacturers, startups, academic institutions, MSMEs, and local entrepreneurs. Cutting-edge technologies, including innovations developed by Indian startups, will be on display.

Union Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth, who had earlier described EastTech 2025 as a “turning point” for Jharkhand’s industrial landscape, had said the expo offers the state a golden opportunity to create a strong image in the defence sector.
He had noted that India currently exports defence equipment to 92 countries, with exports crossing ₹23,000 crore, and is targeting ₹50,000 crore.
Entrepreneurs from Jharkhand, he had stressed, can play a crucial role in reaching that goal and in advancing the vision of a self-reliant India.
