Ranchi, November 14: In a tragic accident, a police vehicle lost control and fell into the Dhurwa Dam, killing three policemen here.
The deceased have been identified as Upendra Kumar Singh, Robin Kujur, and Satendra Singh, two of them bodyguards and one a government driver of the Principal District Judge of Jamshedpur.
According to reports, the three were travelling in a Swift car near the Dhurwa Dam late at Friday night when the vehicle suddenly went out of control and plunged into the water. As per the locals, the car was seen speeding moments before it fell into the dam.
Hatia DSP Pramod Kumar Mishra confirmed that all three policemen died in the accident. After hours of rescue operations involving locals, divers, and the police, the vehicle was pulled out and the bodies, along with two service weapons, were recovered.

Police from Dhurwa and Nagdi stations reached the spot as soon as they received the information. It took nearly two to three hours for the rescue team to retrieve the car from the dam.
Initial information suggests that the policemen were travelling from the Judicial Academy in Dhurwa towards the dam when the accident occurred.
The recovered vehicle has been sent for further examination, and an investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of the accident.
