Ranchi, July 30: The Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) on Thursday postponed the online application process for the Jharkhand Trained Assistant Professor (Para Category) Combined Competitive Examination-2026 with immediate effect after a technical error was detected in the online application software.

The decision was announced through an official notification issued by the Controller of Examinations, just a day before the online application window was scheduled to open.

According to the earlier schedule, candidates were to submit online applications from July 31 to August 30, 2026. However, the Commission suspended the application process pending rectification of the technical issue.

In its notification, JSSC said the application process would resume only after the software-related problem is resolved and assured candidates that fresh dates for submission of online applications would be announced at the earliest.

“Due to a technical error in the online application software, the process of receiving online applications is being suspended with immediate effect. Candidates will be informed about the revised application schedule as soon as possible after the issue is resolved,” the Commission said in its official notice.

The recruitment drive is aimed at filling 7,299 Assistant Professor posts in government schools across Jharkhand. Of the total vacancies, 6,101 posts have been earmarked for regular recruitment, while 1,198 posts will be filled under the backlog recruitment category.

The Commission has not specified a timeline for restoration of the online application portal but said candidates should await a fresh notification regarding the revised application schedule once the technical issue is rectified.
