Ranchi, July 27: Allegations of irregularities in recruitment examinations conducted by the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) and the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) intensified on Monday, with several job aspirants demanding a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe and expressing dissatisfaction with the ongoing CID investigation.
Addressing a press conference at the Ranchi Press Club, student leader Kunal questioned the progress of the CID inquiry into the alleged paper leak in the JSSC Combined Graduate Level (CGL) examination, asking why the agency had neither made its final report public nor identified the alleged mastermind if the investigation had been completed.
“If the investigation was over, why had the agency not made its final report public or identified the alleged mastermind?” Kunal said.
Alleging that the state investigating agency could be subjected to political pressure, Kunal demanded a CBI inquiry into the alleged recruitment irregularities. He also sought scrutiny of the selection of Abhay Kumar Tiwari, who was arrested in connection with the alleged irregularities in the 14th JPSC Civil Services Examination, through the JSSC-CGL and other recruitment examinations.
The aspirants further demanded a review of all JPSC examinations conducted with the involvement of TSR Data Processing Private Limited (TDPL). They said recent raids, arrests and unresolved allegations had eroded candidates’ confidence in Jharkhand’s recruitment process.
Supporting the demand, Union Minister of State for Defence and Ranchi MP Sanjay Seth called for an independent CBI investigation into the alleged irregularities in examinations conducted by JPSC and JSSC.
Seth questioned how TDPL, which had reportedly faced blacklisting action in Uttar Pradesh, was entrusted with responsibilities related to JPSC examinations.
He said an independent investigation was essential to establish the facts, fix accountability and restore public confidence in the state’s recruitment system.
The demand for a CBI probe comes amid continuing scrutiny of recruitment examinations in Jharkhand, with candidates alleging that unresolved controversies have undermined the credibility of the state’s selection process.
