Ranchi, Aug. 4: The Jharkhand Health Department has accelerated its inquiry into the alleged dual appointment of Rishabh Kumar, son of former Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) Director Dr. Rajkumar, with RIMS management preparing a comprehensive report for submission before the Jharkhand High Court.
The case, which is already pending before the High Court, pertains to allegations that Rishabh Kumar joined another institution without formally resigning from his position at RIMS, potentially violating government service rules.
According to departmental officials, Rishabh Kumar was serving as a Tutor in the Master of Hospital Administration (MHA) Department at RIMS. The Additional Superintendent of RIMS has stated that he proceeded on leave from the institute and subsequently joined a private medical college in Lucknow as an Assistant Professor and Deputy Medical Superintendent without submitting a formal resignation.
RIMS management has maintained that his resignation has not been accepted, prompting a departmental examination into whether the alleged move constituted a breach of service regulations.
As part of the inquiry, authorities are scrutinising leave records, attendance registers, appointment-related documents and other official records to establish the factual position.
Officials said the report being prepared for the High Court will detail Rishabh Kumar’s present service status and outline the steps taken by the RIMS administration in the matter so far.
Health Department officials indicated that if the inquiry establishes that the allegations are true, disciplinary proceedings under applicable government service rules could be initiated, including removal from service and other legal action.
No official statement has been issued by Rishabh Kumar or his representatives on the allegations. Similarly, no direct comments from the Health Department or RIMS management were available, as the matter remains under departmental inquiry and is sub judice before the Jharkhand High Court.
