Jamshedpur, November 10: Another daylight robbery has exposed the deteriorating law-and-order situation in Jamshedpur as on Monday afternoon, three armed men looted Rs 10 lakh cash from the office of PK Construction Company located at Savitri Complex under the Birsanagar police station area.
According to reports, company owner Pankaj Kumar Singh was counting cash meant for labour payments when the three masked men, wearing helmets, barged into his office. Waving pistols, they snatched the bag full of cash and fled the scene. Before escaping, the robbers fired shots in the air to create panic in the locality.
The entire incident has been captured on the office’s CCTV cameras.
Soon after receiving information, a team led by the City DSP and Birsanagar police reached the spot and began an investigation. The police have seized CCTV footage and launched a manhunt to trace the culprits.
The incident has triggered fear among traders and local residents, who expressed anger over the rising cases of crime in the steel city. Police officials have assured that the accused will be identified and arrested soon.
Notably, just a few days ago, thieves had looted jewellery worth over Rs 50 lakh from a teacher’s flat in Vijaya Garden, another high-profile area under the same police station. The back-to-back incidents have raised serious concerns about police patrolling and public safety in Jamshedpur.
