Ranchi, Oct 18: Members of the Indian Institute of Mass Communication Alumni Association (IIMCAA) Jharkhand Chapter marked the Diwali festival by spending time with underprivileged children and women at Maher Home near Booti More in Ranchi.

On Saturday, coinciding with Dhanteras, alumni and their families distributed essential rations, sweets, lamps and firecrackers to residents of the shelter, catering to their specific needs and preferences.

IIMCAA Jharkhand Chapter President and IPS officer Kishore Kaushal praised Maher Home for its work in providing education and shelter to children separated from their families, calling it a “great example for society”.

Kaushal expressed hope that the children would pursue better lives through education, adding that the alumni group would continue to support the home in the future.

“If the children at Maher Home need anything, we will provide full support as per our capacity. Our members will keep coming here and contributing in any way they can,” he said.

The celebrations saw the children enjoying sweets and lighting sparklers in a festive atmosphere.

Those present included Manoj Kumar, Amit Gupta, Vishal Jain, Rajesh Kumar, Kumar Rajesh, Manish Gupta, Manish Kumar, Ranjeet Kumar, Anand Dutt, among others.
