Ranchi, Oct 14: Jharkhand Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar on Wednesday inaugurated the Durga Puja pandal organised by the Shri Ramlala Puja Committee on the District School premises. The pandal is modelled on the Sarvaveda Mahamandir Dham in Varanasi.

Addressing the gathering on the occasion, Gangwar said that Durga Puja symbolises faith, spiritual consciousness and rich cultural traditions, while conveying the message of the victory of good over evil and justice over injustice.

Extending his greetings to the people of the state on the occasion of Navratri and Durga Puja, Gangwar prayed to Goddess Durga for happiness, peace and prosperity in everyone’s lives.

He said Goddess Durga symbolises strength, courage and compassion, and the festival inspires people to follow the path of truth and face difficult situations courageously.

The Governor said that worshipping Goddess Durga also expresses reverence and respect for women power. He emphasised that women’s education, safety and empowerment are essential for societal progress. He called for collective efforts to create an environment where every daughter gets equal opportunities to develop her talents and advance in every sphere of life.

Gangwar said festivals like Durga Puja bring together different sections of society, promote mutual interaction and strengthen the spirit of brotherhood. He added that Jharkhand’s rich cultural traditions are a matter of pride, and such events play an important role in preserving cultural heritage and encouraging community participation.

The Governor prayed to Goddess Durga to grant everyone strength, wisdom and a spirit of service, while ensuring peace, harmony and prosperity in Jharkhand and the entire country.
