Ranchi, October 14: In a festive gesture, the Hemant Soren government will release October salaries early for all state government employees.
The payment will be made from October 16, ahead of Diwali and Chhath Puja, to help employees manage their festive expenses smoothly.
According to a letter issued by the Finance Department, the early salary payment will cover employees of the Jharkhand Government, Governor’s Secretariat, Jharkhand High Court, and Assembly Secretariat.
Finance Secretary Jyoti Kumari Jha has reportedly directed all government treasuries to ensure timely disbursement of salaries from October 16, keeping in mind the upcoming major festivals.

The move continues a long-standing state tradition of releasing salaries early during festive seasons such as Durga Puja, Diwali, Chhath, Eid, Holi, and Christmas.
Last month, the government had also taken a similar step ahead of Durga Puja.
Welcoming the decision, the Jharkhand State Employees Federation said that early salary payment not only helps employees manage festive expenses but also boosts the local economy.
The government clarified that the advance payment will not affect its financial position but will ensure employees enjoy a hassle-free festive season.
