Ranchi, July 15: Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee University (DSPMU), Ranchi, will reopen the Chancellor’s Portal for undergraduate (UG) programmes in departments where the number of applications is lower than the available seats, providing another opportunity for eligible students to secure admission.
The decision has been taken to ensure that the maximum number of students benefit from the admission process and that vacant seats in various traditional and professional undergraduate courses are filled.
The announcement came after DSPMU Vice Chancellor Dr. Raju Manohar reviewed the ongoing admission process during an inspection of the first round of counselling. He said the university has been conducting the enrolment process in a transparent and student-friendly manner.
“The enrolment process under the first counselling is being conducted in a completely transparent and student-friendly manner,” Dr. Manohar said.
He noted that July 15 is the last date for enrolment under the first counselling process and urged selected candidates to complete their admission formalities within the stipulated deadline.
Highlighting the university’s next step, the Vice Chancellor said, “The Chancellor’s Portal will soon be reopened for undergraduate departments where applications are fewer than the available seats, giving more students an opportunity to secure admission.”
He added that the move would also benefit students who were unable to submit their applications during the earlier admission window.
“Students who could not apply earlier for any reason will also get another chance to submit their applications through the reopened portal,” he said.
Meanwhile, the university has also invited online applications through the Chancellor’s Portal for admission to various traditional and professional postgraduate (PG) programmes.
The reopening of the portal is expected to help fill vacant seats while extending another opportunity to aspiring students seeking admission to DSPMU for the current academic session.
