BJP demands cancellation of Bokaro’s MLA membership

Ranchi, June 9: The state BJP unit met Jharkhand Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Ravi Kumar on Monday demanding cancellation of Bokaro MLA Shweta Singh’s Jharkhand assembly membership.

A BJP delegation led by former Bokaro MLA Biranchi Narayan requested immediate action after investigating the allegations against the Congress MLA Shweta Singh.

The Chief Electoral Officer has assured the BJP delegation that appropriate action will be taken in this matter within two weeks.

Shweta Singh has been accused of violating Articles 191, 191(1) and 192. She is accused of not mentioning the amount due for allotment of two government quarters in her name and the amount due in the nomination form, which comes under the purview of the office of profit.

A delegation of BJP will also meet Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar under the leadership of Rajya Sabha MP Aditya Sahu, in this meeting too, immediate action will be requested against MLA Shweta Singh.
