Ranchi, September 8: Train operations in South Eastern Railway’s Adra division have been severely affected due to a rolling block imposed for essential track maintenance work.
Due to the work, several passenger and express trains have been either cancelled, rescheduled, short-terminated, or diverted as part of the move. The decision has caused significant inconvenience to a large number of passengers.
According to an official notification issued by South Eastern Railway, the following modifications have been made to train services:
The 68077/68078 Adra–Vishnupur–Adra MEMU Passenger will remain cancelled on September 12 and 14. Similarly, the 68046/68045 Asansol–Adra–Asansol MEMU Passenger will not run on the same dates. In addition, the 68056 Tatanagar–Asansol MEMU Passenger has been cancelled on September 9.
The 68055 Asansol–Tatanagar MEMU Passenger will terminate at Adra, and services between Asansol and Adra will remain suspended till September 14. Likewise, the 13503/13504 Bhagalpur–Howrah–Bhagalpur MEMU Express will both terminate and originate from Gomoh (GMO), with its services between Gomoh and Howrah cancelled up to September 14.
In terms of rescheduling, the 18184 Buxar–Tatanagar Express will leave Buxar 90 minutes late on September 12 and 14. The 18036 Howrah–Kharagpur Express will also run late, departing from Howrah two hours behind schedule on September 9.
Meanwhile, the 18601 Tatanagar–Howrah Express will take a diverted route via Chandil (CNI), Gidabir (GDBR), and Muri instead of its regular path through Chandil, Purulia (PRR), Kasai (KSX), and Muri. This diversion will be in place on September 9, 10, and 13.
Railway officials have advised passengers to stay updated through the official website or make enquiries at nearby stations before travelling.
The block in Adra division has been enforced to carry out long-pending track maintenance work. Officials have urged passengers to cooperate with railway authorities and bear with the temporary difficulties.
