3 Bangladesh immigrants escape from detention centre

Hazaribagh, June 9: Three Bangladeshi citizens absconded from Hazaribagh detention center. They had entered India illegally without a passport.

All three foreign nationals have completed their sentence. These include Reena Khan alias Fina Devi, Akhtar Khushi and Nazmul.

Reena Khan was shifted from Jamtara Jail to Hazaribagh Detention Center on 4 February 2022, Akhtar Khushi on 28 September 2024 and Nazmul on 1 March 2025. These three Bangladeshis were kept in Hazaribagh Detention Center from different jails of Jharkhand.

According to the information, all of them escaped late Friday night or Saturday morning. Attempts were being made to hide this information. But as soon as information about this incident was received, the police started raiding various areas of Hazaribagh. The details of these absconding Bangladeshis have been made available to all the police stations, so that these people can be arrested.

After the incident, senior officials of the district inspected the center. Hazaribagh Deputy Commissioner Shashi Prakash Singh also reached the center to investigate.

He said that the whole matter is being investigated. Orders have been issued for the arrest of the three infiltrators.
