Ranchi, August 29 : The Jharkhand CID’s investigation into alleged irregularities in the JSSC-CGL examination has widened with the arrest of two men from Bihar, as investigators examine the roles of individuals involved in the conduct of the recruitment test.
The accused, Somansh Prakash and Rahul Kumar, were arrested on Thursday in connection with alleged irregularities in the Jharkhand Graduate-Level Combined Competitive Examination (JSSC-CGL) conducted by the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission on September 21 and 22, 2024.
According to the CID, both men were associated with the conduct of the examination. Prakash is a native of Rohtas district in Bihar, while Kumar belongs to Vaishali. Both were residing in Burari, Delhi, at the time of their arrest.
The latest arrests are part of a wider investigation by a Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Jharkhand CID, which is examining the circumstances surrounding the alleged irregularities and the possible involvement of other persons.
The probe had earlier led to the arrest of Abhay Tiwari, then serving as a block supply officer in Poriyahat, Godda district, on July 22. His wife, Sushama Kumari, and brother, Akshay Tiwari, were subsequently arrested on August 18.
Investigators are now questioning the accused and examining available evidence to establish how the alleged irregularities occurred and whether they were part of a broader network.
The CID’s investigation is continuing, with the agency expected to establish the extent of the alleged malpractice and determine whether further arrests or legal action are warranted.
