New Delhi, Aug 14: The Delhi Police’s New Delhi Zone organised a Tiranga Rally from Vijay Chowk to India Gate on Friday as part of the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga, Ghar-Ghar Tiranga’ campaign ahead of the country’s 80th Independence Day.
The rally was aimed at spreading awareness about the national flag and encouraging citizens to participate in Independence Day celebrations, officials said.
Police Control Room (PCR) vans, mobile patrol vehicles and bikes carrying the Tricolour participated in the rally along the Vijay Chowk-Kartavya Path-India Gate route.
Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Kharak Singh Rawat said the rally was organised in connection with Independence Day and to spread awareness among the public about the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign.
“Under the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga, Ghar-Ghar Tiranga’ campaign, we are holding a Tiranga Rally to raise awareness among every individual,” Rawat said.
He said the initiative was aligned with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s message encouraging citizens to display the national flag at their homes.According to Rawat, 25 Mobile Patrol Vehicles (MPVs), along with their personnel, participated in the rally.
The ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign was launched under the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav to encourage citizens to bring the Tricolour home and hoist or display it as part of Independence Day celebrations.
The initiative seeks to strengthen citizens’ personal connection with the national flag and promote a sense of patriotism and collective participation in nation-building.
