Ranchi, July 22: A joint team of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and Ranchi Police on Tuesday conducted searches at the office of the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) in Ranchi as part of an investigation into alleged irregularities in the Commission’s recruitment examination process.
The operation was launched following complaints alleging procedural lapses and lack of transparency in the recruitment process.
The search was carried out under heavy security, with Ranchi Police cordoning off the JPSC headquarters while CID officials examined records inside the premises.
Investigators scrutinised official documents, merit lists, digital records, computer hard drives and other recruitment-related files to ascertain whether any irregularities or violations had occurred.
CID officials also reportedly questioned JPSC officials and employees present during the operation and conducted searches at the residences of some Commission officials.
Authorities have not yet issued an official statement on the outcome of the raids or confirmed whether any documents or electronic devices were seized.
The action comes amid mounting allegations of malpractice following the declaration of the 14th JPSC Preliminary Examination results.
Several student organisations and aspirants have been protesting across Jharkhand, demanding an impartial inquiry into the recruitment process.
The raids have intensified scrutiny of the state’s premier recruitment agency and come a day before the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is scheduled to gherao the JPSC headquarters, seeking accountability over the alleged examination irregularities.
