Patna, Dec 22: Patna district in Bihar is set to get a new industrial park in Bakhtiyarpur, with the district administration initiating the process to acquire around 500 acres of land for the project. The proposed facility will be the fourth industrial park in the district, after the existing ones at Patliputra, Fatuha and Bihta.

Officials said four villages in Bakhtiyarpur circle—Saidpur, Bahadurpur, Gangapur Narauli and Tara Chandpur—have been identified for land acquisition. Survey teams have been deployed to identify plots and prepare detailed maps to ensure that the process is completed within the stipulated timeframe.

The administration has assured farmers of fair compensation and a transparent acquisition process. Landowners will be paid compensation at four times the prevailing circle rate, officials said, adding that farmers’ interests will be fully protected throughout the process.

Once operational, the industrial park is expected to generate significant employment opportunities in Bakhtiyarpur and surrounding areas. The park will cater to small, medium and large industries, with a focus on sectors such as food processing, textiles, electronics, logistics and agro-based industries. Special infrastructure and incentives will also be provided to startups to encourage young entrepreneurs to set up businesses within the state.

Officials highlighted the strategic location of Bakhtiyarpur as a major advantage. Proximity to national highways and railway lines is expected to facilitate the smooth movement of raw materials and finished goods, making the area attractive to investors.

With the industrial areas at Patliputra, Fatuha and Bihta nearing full capacity, the new park has become a necessity to meet growing investor demand. Authorities said that if interest continues to rise, additional industrial parks may be planned in other parts of the district, including Bikram.

The development of the Bakhtiyarpur industrial park is expected to further strengthen Patna district’s position as a key industrial hub in Bihar, boosting investment, employment and local economic growth.
