Australia, Jharkhand discuss cooperation in skills, minerals and tourism

Ranchi, Sept 16 : Australian Consul-General in Kolkata Bernard Lynch met Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren at the Chief Minister’s residential office in Ranchi on Wednesday, with discussions focusing on strengthening cooperation between the state and Australia.

The meeting was described as a courtesy call. According to the Jharkhand Chief Minister’s Office, the two sides discussed ways to deepen bilateral engagement and explore strategic partnerships in areas of mutual interest.

The discussions covered several sectors, including education, minerals, skill development, investment, culture, sports and tourism.

The meeting also focused on identifying opportunities for greater collaboration in these areas and strengthening institutional and economic linkages between Jharkhand and Australia.

Jharkhand Chief Secretary Avinash Kumar and Angelina Nair, Senior Research and Visit Officer at the Australian Consulate-General in Kolkata, were also present during the meeting.

The interaction comes as Jharkhand continues to explore opportunities for cooperation in sectors linked to skills, minerals, technology, investment and tourism.
