Bokaro, November 18: With nearly 85% of the work at Bokaro Airport already completed, Deputy Commissioner Ajay Nath Jha has directed officials to accelerate the remaining tasks so that flight services can begin without delay.
Chairing a review meeting at the airport premises on Monday, the DC said that only 15% work is left, and it must be finished strictly within the set deadlines.
During the review, DC Jha directed officials to speed up the clearing of bushes and cleaning inside the airport campus. He set a firm deadline of December 15, 2025 for completing all such tasks and stressed that no delay will be tolerated in meeting this timeline.

Jha also instructed the concerned departments to keep all fire-fighting systems fully functional and emphasised the need for regular inspection and testing to ensure operational readiness. The remaining portions of the airport boundary wall must also be completed on time, he added.
Issuing a strict direction, DC Jha told Civil Surgeon Dr Abhay Bhushan Prasad to finish the procedural work for procuring a four-bed ambulance and ensure that the purchase is completed within the next 15 days under all circumstances.
The DC also instructed the Sub-Divisional Officer, BSL management and the police to complete formal procedures and remove the illegal encroachment at Elora Hostel as per rules.
The meeting was attended by Ranchi Airport Authority Deputy General Manager Manoj Singh, Birsa Munda Airport Director Vinod Kumar, Trainee DFO Sandeep Shinde, Additional Collector Md Mumtaz Ansari, Chas SDO Pranjal Dhanda, IB representatives, BSL officials, District PRO Ravi Kumar, DSP (City) Alok Ranjan and others.
