Babulal Soren fails to win Ghatsila seat in by-poll

JLKM candidate Ramdas Murmu came third.

Earlier, the tribal-dominated Ghatsila seat went to bypolls following the sudden demise of state Education Minister Ramdas Soren. Voting was held on November 11 which recorded an impressive 74.63% turnout, with women voters participating in large numbers.

A total of 13 candidates, including one woman, were in the contest, though the main fight remained between the JMM and the BJP.
